In a 1982 article Carl Blanton recalled, "One time a private plane crashed in the Ohio River in the Jeffersonville area. John Enlow and Denny Ehringer were on the fuel flat. Denny called me from the phone on the shop barge. He told me what happened and ask me to get some help. The first thing I did was call the M/V HUGH C BLASHE. The pilot (of the BLASKE) went up the river to see If he could find the plane, and I called the police and the Coast Guard."
